LETTER FROM THE CHAIR
July
31 through August 10, 2009 we will once again have an opportunity
to challenge ourselves physically and mentally in Vancouver,
British Columbia, Canada for the 2009 World Police & Fire
Games. We will compete against some of the best athletes
our professions offers. These competitors are world class
athletes and as in past Games, Colorado Springs athletes
have shined as bright as the Games' torch.
Since
the 1991 Games, held in Memphis, Colorado Springs public
safety athletes have brought home Gold, Silver and Bronze
in swimming, boxing weight lifting, cycling, archery, wrist
wrestling, small and large bore shooting, karate, golf
and the muster. These Games are open to all active and
retired personnel who meet the criteria set by the WPFG
Federation. I look forward to working with the athletes
planning to attend the Games.
Please
make a copy of the application for the Pikes Peak Police &
Fire Athletes, fill it out, mail to the address given, athletes
will be eligible for financial assistance for the 2009 Games.
